Network Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our IT team, responsible for maintaining and enhancing our complex network infrastructure. This role is crucial for providing operational support and a variety of networking services. The Network Engineer will be instrumental in troubleshooting, monitoring, and designing network systems to optimize performance and ensure security.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Perform network system administration duties as necessary for system availability, maintainability and security.
• Configure network devices and manage network settings.
• Monitor network performance and identify potential issues.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity problems.
• Deploy and configure network security solutions, including Palo Alto Firewalls, Infoblox DNS, Cisco Umbrella, C-Packet, and FireEye, to enhance security, load balancing, and data mirroring. 
• Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
• Working with IT teams, system administrators, security teams, and management to ensure network integration with other systems.

Required Skills:

• Expertise in network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS)
• Cisco certification (CCNA, CCNP) preferred.
• Experience with network devices (routers, switches, firewalls)
• Knowledge of network security best practices.
• Strong analytical, oral and written communications, problem solving, and human relations skills.
• Familiarity with different VPN and tunnelling techniques.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience administering/supporting networking technologies.
